The Chelsea Area Fire Authority Rokon project will greatly benefit all of the outdoor enthusiasts that use the greater Chelsea/Waterloo/Pinkney recreation areas. Hikers, hunters, cyclists, mountain bikers, cross country skiers, snowmobilers, horse riding enthusiasts.
In our efforts to provide the most efficient, appropriate care to all individuals injured while enjoying our great recreation areas, we are currently raising funds to purchase specialized equipment. A Rokon ATV Trail Bike with a specialized rescue trailer that will be able to gain access to and transport injured persons off the trails in a timely manner.
Currently we are aiming to purchase this equipment in the spring of 2019 in order to ready ourselves for the 2019 outdoor seasons. Having this equipment in place and ready to respond on emergency calls for injured persons would be a tremendous asset in rendering aid to citizens in need. We are projecting this equipment will reduce rescue times by 50% or more. With trauma injuries time is of the essences, the quicker we can get the injured person packaged and transported to the appropriate hospital, the better their chances are for a good outcome and recovery.
This is a new chapter in our ever changing world of Fire and EMS services. Due to these sudden changes and the need for specialized equipment, budgeting for such things can't happen quick enough. It would mean so much to Chelsea Area Fire Authority that you support us in raising the funds needed to purchase this equipment.
