HELP Ash Get to Florida!

Over Spring Break 2019, I will be going to Florida to study and learn about the local wildlife! Some of the places I will be traveling to are the Florida Everglades, Key Largo, and Key West. While here, I will visit a sea turtle hospital and a dolphin care center. At the turtle hospital, I will learn about the biggest challenges sea turtles face in the wild. At the dolphin care center, I will get into the water with the dolphins to touch, swim, and observe their behavior and anatomy with an experienced dolphin trainer.

I will be snorkeling throughout my trip, having the opportunity to see a variety of tropical fish swimming around a living coral reef. I will also be kayaking and hiking through the Mangrove Forest and other coastal areas. While snorkeling in the Florida Keys, I will be sampling the water and collecting data to help us learn more about the threats to the sea grass beds which are very important to the health of the Florida Ecosystem. I will also learn how to identify where fish live in the marine shelf based on their adaptations. I will also experience a tram tour where I will be guided by a park ranger to see alligators, snakes, and countless birds.

This trip is very important to me because I have always wanted to be a Marine Biologist and I hope that going to Florida and learning about animals will help me achieve my dream.
