Helping Hope

Little Miss Hope decided that this spring air was just what she wanted! She made her grand entrance on Friday, April 10th, 2015 at 4:09pm. She was 16weeks early, born at the Ottawa General Hospital.

She was a born fighter, she wasn't expected to be crying, let alone be breathing on her own. But she was! She has a tube in her stomach to help remove air as she breathes in a lot of air into her stomach. She also is on CPAP machine, which helps to keep the pressure in her lungs up, it doesnt breathe for her, but assists her in keeping her nose and lungs at the right pressure.

We are going to be spending a lot of time at the hospital in the next 3-5 months. From parking, to food to the gas (as we are in Richmond, it is about 45 minutes to hospital each way. Which I know is so close compared to a lot of people. It all adds up though). It is going to be a long road and I am going to have to take time off to be with her. Because she is so early and can't feed normally I have to invest in a hospital grade double electric pump (or formula feed, but breast is best especially for her!) and the rental is going to get expensive fast!

Any help that family, friends, loved ones can offer is more than greatly greatly appreciated! Even $5 is amazing. I can't begin to thank everyone enough for the support already. Hope, Christopher and myself are so grateful for everything. All our love!
