Help for Medical and Living Expenses

Hi All! My name is Heather Bruegl, and I am setting this fundraiser up for my parents, Cheri and Dennis.

My dad, Dennis, has always worked. He is a doer. He served in the United States Air Force, did construction, and worked for many years for the Home Depot; he has always worked. He doesn't like to sit still. Whether it was working or woodworking, his hands have always been busy. He has always been active. But recently, due to health concerns, my dad was forced into an early retirement at just 61 due to health issues.

In 2009, he was diagnosed with macular degeneration, which affects eyesight. He was able to manage for quite a while, just within the past couple of weeks; unfortunately, he lost the vision in his left eye. His right eye is now giving him issues as it struggles to do the work of two eyes. A CT Scan in 2018 showed that he had a mini-stroke at some point in the past. In the Fall of 2021, he was diagnosed with A-Fib, and just this year, in April, he was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Regurgitation.

My dad is the biggest Green Bay Packers fan out there. That is where my love for the game comes from. My family is now struggling.

Since my dad's forced retirement due to health, my mom, Cheri, has been the sole financial support for her and my dad. Unfortunately, she was let go from her job due to the need to tend to my dad's health needs. The source of regular income is now gone. So, there is a need for more work to make ends meet.

I am starting this fundraiser to help my parents with mortgage payments, car payments, and everyday living until a more regular source of income comes back. Anything helps.

My dad was in the unique position of being able to choose to be my dad. He and my mom were married when I was three years old. When he married my mom, he decided to be my dad. He took me in, raised me, attended my graduation, walked me down the aisle, and loved me. Creating this fundraiser in his time of need is the least I can do to help out the man who raised me as his own.
