Our mission is to educate the generations of tomorrow about the global single-use plastic problem, so positive solutions can start today. By creating educational documentaries and collecting data on microplastics in the South Pacific, Eat Less Plastic will give people a platform to share their voices and add valuable data to the global plastic estimate sparking local and global policy change.
A crew of sailors, actors, businessmen, and every day citizens recently finished a 6 month long voyage across the Pacific Ocean. Determined to tackle one of deadliest threats to the sea and its marine life: PLASTIC pollution.
The crew visited island nations, documenting their findings in VR/360 while gathering essential data through the 5 Gyres Trawl Share Program in areas where this data have never been collected. Eat Less Plastic is creating an ongoing voyage together by focusing on real solutions and the relationship between the people of the Pacific, their families, and our love for the ocean.
As we visited the Pacific islands we learned what they are doing to develop solutions based on their understanding and respect for the ocean. Their positive practices can be a model for others, helping to bring awareness to plastic pollution in our oceans.
In collaboration with organizations including Algalita Marine Research and Education, 5 Gyres, and Love The Sea, we hope to use the data and documentation to create positive impacts for future generations through education, legislation, and awareness.
