<div> Help Support Bob Graves’ Recovery After His Stroke

<div>On September 29th, my brother-in-law, <strong>Bob Graves, suffered a massive ischemic stroke</strong> caused by a blood clot behind his left eye in a major artery. The stroke caused severe brain swelling, and doctors had to perform a decompressive craniectomy — removing part of his skull — to relieve the pressure and save his life.

<div>Since then, Bob has been fighting every single day. He’s had a tracheostomy to help him breathe and a PEG tube for feeding. He was on a ventilator for several weeks but is now breathing on his own with oxygen support. He still has his trach and is slowly being weaned off sedation as he continues to recover.

<div>After spending weeks in the ICU and then a Select Specialty Hospital in Akron, Bob is now preparing to move to a rehabilitation center in Massillon where he’ll begin the long road of recovery — including physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Every step is progress, but it’s going to be a long and challenging journey.

<div>We remain thankful every day that God spared his life and gave us more time with him. Bob is everyone’s friend, my best brother-in-law, and an amazing father, and we know he feels all the love and prayers surrounding him. 

</div>

<div>While insurance has thankfully covered a large portion of his hospital care, there are still many expenses that aren’t covered — including travel costs, out-of-pocket therapy sessions, medical equipment, and everyday bills that continue to add up. As my sister is his primary caregiver, I’m trying to help her financially while she is helping my brother-in-law. <strong>During this difficult time, I’m doing everything I can to help them stay more focused on his health and healing, but I know they could really use some extra help.</strong>
