Rowan's Journey

My nephew Rowan, has been diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, ( an aggressive form of eye cancer). As with most illness and cancers, this has caught us all by surprise. Rowan was having his one year check up, when his pediatrician noticed that his left eye, was not reflecting any light, during his physical exam. It caused so much concern, that my brother and his wife were sent to John Hopkins Hospital, 4 days later. After several tests, over a couple of days, their worst fears were realized. Not only was Rowan diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, but his best option for survival, was to have his left eye removed. His surgery is scheduled for next week. So his parents have had to endure diagnosis to surgery, in just a few short weeks. Including multiple, 2.5 hour trips to Baltimore, missed work and occasionally staying in hotels overnight, for early morning testing. First and foremost, the family is just asking for continued prayers. I have decided to start this page, because I have had friends and family, ask how they could help out financially.
