Ross Stanley Givens
...Our precious gift. Bright, loving, passionate. Someone who cared about others and who dared to dream. His engaging personality left an impact on so many from school peers and administrators, to family and close friends. Ross' smile radiated from his heart to his face. He loved his family and friends and loved to laugh. On February 11, 2015 Ross departed this life and is now resting in the arms of Jesus. He is survived by his loving parents Stanley & Martha Givens, his brother Scott Givens and a loving family. Ross was a true jewel with a big heart.

Ross was touched and personally impacted by the caring work of a trusted Marriage and Family Counselor.  He began to see him as someone to look up to. During their last one-on-one conversation just five days prior to his passing, Ross looked the counselor in the eyes and expressed his desire to work alongside him and within the practice that had supported him so unwaveringly, Empower Counseling, Coaching and Spiritual Direction, LLC. Ross was serious, so the two made plans to meet the following Friday, February 13, 2015 to map out what Ross' role was going to be. Ross transitioned to his heavenly home just two days prior to their scheduled meeting, however, this exchange is permanently imprinted in the minds and hearts of the counselor and Ross' family.

To honor Ross' memory, in lieu of flowers, donations to the "Triple Truth" Fund are requested.  "Triple Truth" is a team of three mental health practioners; including the counselor who supported Ross and his family over the past several years.  The "Triple Truth" Television Show Pilot is currently in the works and is scheduled to debut in early 2016.  The "Triple Truth" show will illuminate the pivotal work of these three counselors in the areas of mentoring, anti-bullying, family relationships, navigating difficult circumstances and more. The ultimate goal of the show is to minimize the stigma of counseling and to encourage individuals to take the next step to partner with a counselor in their time of need

The Givens Family believes that Ross would want us to offer our genuine support to this endeavor helping to ensure that every young person, individual and family may obtain the needed support throughout their journey.

On behalf of The Givens-Gibson Family, thank you in advance for your incredible generosity and thoughtful support.
