Rose's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
This really isn't my story to tell.  But there comes a time when the stress of finances out ways the desire for privacy. I told Rose (my sister) I was going to do this and she reluctantly agreed.  My sister is a strong woman who works hard and helps others.  She is a giver, a supporter and someone who sees the kindness in everyone.

Well, at the start of this year Rose was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  The exact kind that claimed our mother a few years back.  We also lost our brother this past month to suicide/terminal illness.  So the stress and the bills have started rolling in and her and her family are taking it in stride.

Except, last week, on the last day of chemo, just before Rose rang the bell to declare she was winning the battle against this horrible disease, she found out she needed to have radiation therapy.  He treatments will be everyday, for 4-6 weeks.  The immediate stress of how she would get back and forth to her treatments were appearant on her face. Her family only had one reliable car.  So, we went shopping and found a well kept 1998 GMC jimmy! We were able to fund this and cross one big hurdle. But the idea of having gas money for the trip each day and still make payments on their share of the medical bills is daunting.

I would like to say her husbands employer has been amazing - but the truth is, they found a reason to let him go as soon as they found out his wife had cancer.  So he now works 2 hours away from their home. We continue to pay cobra payments to cut down on insurance costs - which many of you know is not cheap either - but the road to recovery is still a bit stressful!

With all that is going on in the world, if the most you can give is a prayer, a smile, or just an encouraging text, please don't hesitate as all of these things are invaluable!

Thank you for taking the time to read and here my sisters story. May you and your families be safe and healthy!

God Bless,
