Rosemary's Fix My Foot campaign

I was diagnosed as diabetic in 2007. I've worked hard to combat the disease but have had some struggles. In late 2012 I found that I had a broken fifth metatarsal in my right foot. I didn't feel it because of neuropathy, or damaged nerves in my legs. I actually walked a 5k with a broken foot. The bone was fixed but due to the fact that it had gone undiagnosed for a while the bone didn't heal correctly and the screw the doctor put in broke. Over this time I was diagnosed withe Charcot neuroarthropathy. The condition has deformed my foot and ankle bones, making me walk on the side of my right foot. In 2015 the foot and bone became infected, and walking on the outside of that foot didn't help. I had to have my metatarsal and little toe amputated.
I now wear a brace on the foot to help me walk straight, but it doesn't help much. I have one pair of shoes as with the brace on my shoe size went up and I just can't afford more shoes now. The alternative is surgery to fuse my ankle, which would help me be able to walk on the sole of my foot and be able to wear the shoes I have.
I have had to change my whole way of dressing as the brace is unattractive so dresses, skirts or shorts are out of the question. It has sort of defeated me, although I still have the foot and can walk, albeit it uncomfortably. I am thankful for all that I do have.
What I need is the $3,000 to pay my insurance deductible so I can have the surgery. I'm afraid that the longer I go without surgery, the more deformed it will become and it might not be fixable. Could I use more to help with incidentals? Yes. But the main thing is to hopefully get the foot fixed so I can walk normally and resume some activities that I've had to put aside due to the deformity.
