Rosegarden Funeral Party Van

Donation protected
Dear friends and family alike, As a band, one of our core messages is that of the value and delicacy of life. We have celebrated the gift of existence —even with all it’s heartbreak—with you across the US over the past two years. We have traveled miles to do our best to encourage people to persevere in the face of sorrow and to find the strength to live their lives despite every arrow in one’s side. We are all so grateful to be here… however, the earnest understanding of life’s beautiful fragility is no better understood then when one’s life is threatened in an instant. We have faced many setbacks as a band, but none has come so close to ending it all as what happened the other night… On Friday night, December the 6th of 2019, our van (“Slodive” as so many of you knew him) flipped going around a turn leaving Fort Worth,TX on our way back to the Rosegarden Funeral Home. We took a turn around a bend too quickly, veered into the oncoming lane, and clipped a passing car. In a moment, we were skidding sideways in the opposite lane. Once the van had lost motion and silence fell over us, trembling, I asked “Is everyone alright…?” And in an honest act of God, we all were okay. We were helped to safety by the angels that we clipped during the turn and a passing man on the street. They helped to pull us from the van and we cannot thank them enough. They contributed to saving our lives... Besides me having a fist full of glass(which I took care of) and the other’s being sore, we’re fine. We spent the next day counting our blessing and preparing to play our Dallas Observer Music Awards showcase that night. The boys went through all the gear (which, to our incredible surprise, IS ALL OKAY!) while Vera went with me to the hospital to make sure I was clear of glass. We were so happy that we were able to make it to the show and we are so so so blessed that we did not die the other night… Guys… It’s not easy to do this, it’s never easy to ask for help, but because of what happened the other night, we no longer have a way to tour anymore…we no longer have a way to come see you… Our van is totaled and cannot be fixed and we are going to have to, unfortunately, find a new one. For those of you who got to hang out with “Slodive” you know how special he was. He was well loved and we are so sad to see him go. So many of you left your mark on him and he was a living memory box… We are so desperate to find new transportation before we leave for tour again in January…. If you have anything to spare to help us buy a new means of bringing our music to you all again, please donate. We love you all so much. Heavy hearted, we will stay strong. ❤ Be Kind to Each Other // We Love You, Leah Lane
