A brief backstory:
Rosa was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in December of 2012.
She thankfully got through it well with proper treatment (chemotherapy, radiation, mastectomy, medication, etc.) And showed very little signs of side effects or physical pain. She was cancer free within the following year or so, and we went on with our healthy, normal lives with her.
During Rosa's recovery of her breast reconstruction surgery in 2017, we received the devastating news that the cancer had returned and metastasized (stage 4). Which means that the tumors spread to various other parts of her body. (In her case: brain, lung, bones.) There is no cure for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
Again, she is going through the necessary treatments, but they are proving to be ineffective this time around. Chemotherapy would do more harm than good at this point, however, she will be receiving radiation treatment.
Although she's had a phenomenal group of doctors/specialists/nurses who coordinate with each other flawlessly in order to take care of her SUPER attentively, the truth is that we've exhausted all options that modern medicine has to offer.
Now we are seeking alternative options not covered by her insurance, which is why this GFM account was created. We hope to find something that works for her, so please feel free to drop some ideas, names of specialists, or anything that is worth looking into.
I want to end on this note:
The great thing here is that she feels good physically (to her doctor's pleasant surprise) and she is in a great place mentally.
She's up, walking around, no pain, doing things moms do, and doing things on her own like she normally would (minus driving. Can't drive with risky tumors in her brain!) We are so grateful for that, and hope to find ways to help prolong that vitality of hers.

Rosa fue diagnosticada con cáncer de mama en etapa 3 en diciembre de 2012.
Afortunadamente, reacciono bien con el tratamiento adecuado (quimioterapia, radioterapia, mastectomía, medicamentos, etc.) y mostró muy pocos signos de efectos secundarios o dolor físico. Estuvo libre de cáncer por un año mas o menos, y continuamos con nuestras vidas sanas y normales con ella.
Durante la recuperación de Rosa de su cirugía de reconstrucción de seno en 2017, recibimos la devastadora noticia de que el cáncer había regresado y había hecho metástasis (etapa 4). Lo que significa que los tumores se crecieron en otras partes de su cuerpo. (En su caso: cerebro, pulmón, huesos). No hay cura para el cáncer de mama metastásico en etapa 4.
Una vez más, ella está pasando por los tratamientos necesarios, pero esta vez son ineficaces. La quimioterapia haría más daño que bien en este momento, sin embargo, ella recibirá un ultimo tratamiento de radiación.
Aunque ha tenido un grupo fenomenal de médicos / especialistas / enfermeras que se coordinan entre sí sin problemas para cuidarla con EXTREMA atención, la verdad es que hemos agotado todas las opciones que la medicina moderna tiene para ofrecer.
Ahora buscamos opciones alternativas que no cubre su seguro, razón por la cual se creó esta cuenta GOFUNDME. Esperamos encontrar algo que funcione para ella, así que por favor siéntase libre de dejar algunas ideas, nombres de especialistas o cualquier cosa que valga la pena investigar.

Lo mejor de todo es que se siente bien físicamente (para sorpresa agradable de su médico) y tiene una gran actitud mentalmente.
Ella está despierta, caminando, sin dolor, haciendo cosas que hacen las mamás, y haciendo las cosas por su cuenta como lo haría normalmente (sin conducir ¡No se puede manejar con tumores peligrosos en el cerebro!) Estamos muy agradecidos con Dios por eso, y esperamos encontrar formas de ayudar a prolongar esa vitalidad que la caracteriza.
