Summer study trip to Cambodia 2013

To my friends and family,
I have been accepted into a 6 week summer abroad program run by Where There be Dragons. This is an opportunity for me to immerse myself in the culture, language, history, politics, food, dance and music of Cambodia, where I spent my first 8 years. I will be traveling with 11 other students and 3 instructors. I ask for your support in helping me revisit my country of birth and delve into this program called Studies in Development and Peace. My parents are paying for half the trip and have challenged me to raise the other half. I hope you'll help me.
Many of you supported me in my trip to Nicaragua last summer by contributing to Soccer without Borders. This time, I'm raising money to pay for my trip, not for a non-profit. However, I will be visiting the Cambodia Tomorrow program that my mother helped start ten years ago, volunteering there and for other organizations. I will be living with several Cambodian families and helping them with their work. I will also visit my Cambodian grandmother and pay my respects to my Cambodian grandfather, who passed away in January.
