Ros' Gender Affirming Surgery Fund
Donation protected
I am raising money for my top surgery operation with Dr Ioannis Ntanos in April 2023. The surgery will be a double mastectomy, to remove my breast tissue and construct a chest. I have decided to pursue transitioning privately due to excessive wait time and poor treatment that trans people currently face going through the NHS Gender Identity Clinic. I believe that all trans people deserve safety and dignity when seeking gender affirming care.
I have known I was trans since I was 13, and I came out as transmasculine and started binding my chest when I was 17. I am now 22, and over the course of this last year have realised that I can no longer put off pursuing gender affirming surgery. Currently I bind my chest six days a week, though due to the exacerbating impact that binding has on my chronic pain this is becoming less and less viable for me. On days when I am not able to bind my chest, I struggle to look in the mirror, be around other people, and even leave the house. Since my consultation with Dr Ioannis Ntanos the possibility of surgery feels within reach for the first time in my life and I already feel more free, happy and myself.
This surgery will change my life, and I would really appreciate any donations or your sharing this post. Thank you so much.
