Rory's cancer treatment

My dog is sick, really sick.
He has just been diagnosed with four mast cell tumors to be exact and my world has literally fallen apart.
Rory was born on Thanksgiving morning in 2014 and I acquired him from the SPCA on Feb 4th 2015. Rory didn't have the best start in life after being transferred to the SPCA from a shelter for abandoned dogs.
Rory and I formed the perfect little family from day one and became inseparable. When Rory was two years old I noticed two bumps on the side of his body. They were squish to touch and didn't seem to bother him or cause him any pain. Nonetheless, I brought him to the vet to have them examined. Given his rough start in life Rory was nervous about the vet and they advised that given his young age they were doubtful it was anything more than fatty deposits. They advised that they would need to sedate him before they tested the lumps but thinking it was nothing to worry about I didn't put him through the ordeal of sedating him for testing.
At the start of this year I noticed 2 further lumps on his body so I again brought him to the vet. Following an examination of the lumps and a biopsy I received the devastating news that they are in fact tumors, mast cell tumors to be exact. She said he is unusually young to have such tumors and what’s surprising is that he has a total of 4 tumors. (Usually dogs get 1-2 tumors in their lifetime max).
I am heartbroken and feel like my world has fallen apart. I will do what ever I can to get treatment for Rory. He is my world and the only family I have in this city. I've already spent over $1,000 on exams and consultations and the estimate for the surgery is another $6,000. This is before chemo or any further surgeries or medication he may require.
I've never done this gofundme thing and I am a pretty private person but I will do what ever it takes to save my Rory.
So I ask you to please spare what ever you can even if it’s a few dollars to help. You have no idea what this will mean to me and I will continue to keep you all updated as to Rory's progress.
