Meet Rory, my Fluffer Nugget/Pomeranian of 7 and a half years.
Rory was diagnosed with bilateral patellar subluxation as a puppy which is medical speak for (both) her knee caps popping out of place. Although she never had a problem growing up, on Friday, November 20th (2020), Rory experienced an ACL tear during our morning walk...
You may know that the ACL is one of the "crucial ligaments" supporting your knee. Due to Rory's condition, a simple misstep was just enough pressure to cause her ligament to tear completely...
Words cannot express the heart ache of hearing her cry out in pain... </3
Rory needs corrective surgery for her ACL tear which will also correct her patellar subluxation and to prevent future complications. The procedure has been estimated at $3600 to be performed as soon as possible...
In the meantime, Rory has to remain crated or confined to protect the remaining integrity of her knee - no more morning walks or playtime, only walking to pee and poop.
If I have learned anything in 2020, it is that we must speak up when we need help... I know it has been difficult for many during this pandemic but if you are willing and able, please consider donating what you can so I can get my Adventure Buddy out of this crate and back on her feet...
