Village Challenge: Help Raise Our Roots!

It takes a village, they say. And we need your help now more than ever to grow our village of teachers, storytellers, artists, and healers that make up our SEAD village. Since 2011, we’ve been changing the way we hold space and use creative community building through our language workshops, storytelling publications, and convenings. 

We need to raise $5,000 by October 25th, 2019.  

$5,000 goes towards the research, design, and marketing of: 
-SEA Cultural Literacy Decks (Baci, Funerals, Healing, Holidays, etc)
-SEA Survival Languages Web App (Hmong, Khmer, Lao, & Viet) 
-SEA Diaspora Storytelling Toolkit

This year’s theme are the stories, cultures, languages, histories, and people that make up our thriving village. We invite you to join in the #RaiseOurRoots movement!

Volunteer at SEAD’s Village

Share Your Story on Socials
Follow our social media handles to stay updated on the campaign using hashtag #RaiseOurRoots. A village are the people, cultures, and histories that make it whole. Who, what, where makes up your village? Share a short story from your village using hashtag #DearVillage. It can be on themes of love, challenges, and hope. Each week leading up to the event, we will also be sharing stories of our SEAD village and all the key characters that make up our reimagined village.
