Who are we?

Hello there! We are the MA of Literature and Publishing class of 2023 from the University of Galway. There are 22 people on our team, hailing from all over the globe. As a group, we bring the embodiment of all our cultures into the heart of Galway, and by extension into this year's publication of ROPES.

What is ROPES?

ROPES is a Galway-based, postgraduate student-run publication with the purpose of showcasing both experienced and emerging writers and artists. Although its birthplace may be the West of Ireland, its reach is widely felt. We aim to publish unique voices spanning the genres of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoirs, essays, and visual art. The aim of this journal is to create something expressive and long-lasting while also giving our team first-hand publishing experience. Even in its 31st edition, we strive each year to craft something new.

Why should I donate?

Every year, the proceeds from our publication are donated to our team's charity of choice. This year all proceeds from its sales will be in aid of the Galway Rape Crisis Centre, which is an essential resource to Galway communities. Your donation will be put towards our production costs which will enable us to produce a high-quality publication, and in turn, maximise our contribution to the Galway Rape Crisis Centre.
