Rope Access Aid for Barbuda

Donation protected
Hurricane Irma decimated the tiny island of Barbuda.  Helping these people in this time of need is necessary in and of itself.  However, as it happens, the International Rope Access Community can specifically help one of its' own as one of our Level III technician's family has been displaced from their home on this tiny island, and has lost literally everything.

This technician has been a pillar of the American Rope Access Community and is one of the most likable and knowledgable folks that we have.  He is easily one of the most reasonable and laid-back individuals with whom I, and many of you, have worked.  While we all grieve for loss in many places, from many storms, this year, please consider making a donation to help his family recover from such a devastating event.

My name is Dwight Witter and I've had the distinct pleasure to calling this technician "friend" for over 20 years.  It is because of his influence on my own Rope Access career that I write this on behalf of his family.

Having gone through Hurricane Katrina over a decade ago, and living in New Orleans, I personally know of the hardships that such a storm can bring to a region but watching the true cost of Irma on such a small island  with such limited resources really reflects the endurance limits of man.  It is only with interminable strength and the support of people like  you that the citizens of Barbuda will re-build and start to find the happiness reflected in their island culture.

As this technician's immediate and extended family begins to put their life back together, their needs will be great.  There will be the basic necessities such as food and clothes, and the not-so-basic necessities such as rebuilding their homes and procuring water, that must be met.  There will be many difficulties considering that progress will be slow due to the lack of immediate resources reaching the island.

Please consider joining me in giving back to one of our own.  Rest assured that 100% of the money raised from this campaign will go directly to me, then to this technician to send directly to his family displaced from Barbuda.

This technician remains nameless in this plea as he has no idea that we are doing this and I would like our support to be a surprise for him and his family.
