Help rebuild Roots and Dominica

On September 18th, 2017, Hurricane Maria hit Dominica. Maria became a Cat 5 hurricane in matter of hours and after its passage, it was all devastation on the nature isle.
We’re grateful for not having had any personal injuries at our eco boutique hotel and home, Roots Jungle Retreat. However, Roots did suffered heavy structural damage, as well as the homes of our neighbors, and at this moment we all need your help to recover from this natural disaster.
For those who had the pleasure of visiting Roots Jungle Retreat, you know that besides its natural beauty, Roots is a magical place, where all our guests become instantly part of our family.
Roots has always being conceived as a place where our guests could reconnect with the essential values of life, and even though it sadden us to see how devastated are the places where beautiful moments were shared, we’re convinced that our family can recover by being loyal to those same essential values.
For the love we have for our home and for Dominica, is that we are not giving up, we are rising again and just like the forest around Roots is becoming greener each day we’re also beginning the process of rebuilding Roots and helping in the recovery of our neighbor community, and, you can become a supporter of this cause.
All the money raised through this initiative will be used to buy materials for reconstruction, hire local people for the rebuilding project and provide shelter and food to volunteers who want to help with this cause.
By supporting Roots, you are also supporting the local community. We have 3 local employees, we hired 12 local people in the past year for special projects, we buy all the supplies for the restaurant from nearby local farms and we decorate our cottages with local handcrafts, supporting local producers and commerce.
We would like to thank you in advance for any help you can give us, as small as it may seem, everything will help us in this recovery.
And we also want to let you know that we will be rewarding our donors with accommodation nights for the next season at Roots Jungle Retreat!
