Get our students to Black Panther!

#BlackPantherChallenge

"I know where I come from. I know where I'm going." That's the official motto of our Oakland public Middle School, Roots International Academy.

Even prior to its release, Black Panther is being celebrated for its rich casting diversity, emphasis on indigenous and African ancestry, and complex characterization of both protagonist and villain.

What a great opportunity for our students to cheer on a hero who represents the best of where we come from and the great heights in which we're capable of reaching.

We're not just talking about a superhero by the way. We're talking about a storyteller in Oakland's own Ryan Coogler---the director!

Your donation with go towards:
Transportation: $2000 for buses
Ticket Fees; $3000 = $9 *330 viewers

We'll need the funds before the movie makes it's run -- probably by the end of March. Our students will be so excited to travel to the theater and experience this incredible and historic event. Thanks for being a part of it!
