ROOT-ed Zine Fundraiser

ROOT-ed Zine is a quarterly magazine and online platform that supports, inspires and promotes artists of colour from the North West of England.

The magazine is ran by artists Fauziya Johnson and Amber Akaunu and has been going for over a year now through self-funding and receiving small bits of funding from organisations such as GoThink Big, FACT and Art In Liverpool.

However, at the moment funding is low and the costs of printing the next issue is too high. ROOT-ed are asking the public to help fund the next 3 issues so they are able to continue being a platform for creatives of colour from the North West and to be able to pay creatives for their time and effort.

Art organisations in the North West have so much more to do in terms of diversity and supporting artists of colour, and that's why having an independent platform that features, exclusively, underrepresented artists is very important.

We hope that we can continue supporting artists of colour and continue creating high quality publications that represents the underrepresented.
