Rooted Yoga & Wellness, a 501(c)(3) Serving Others
Hi, my name is Jennie, owner & founder of Rooted Yoga & Wellness. We opened our physical doors as a 501(c)(3) Non Profit Wellness center in February of 2020. Rooted in service & recovery, we provide classes, workshops and private sessions geared towards healing from trauma, addiction and abuse. We utilize meditation, breath work and yoga as a modality to become present and aware of now, in order to forgive the past and compassionately move forward. We have trauma certified instructors, abuse & addiction counselors, instructors certified in Yoga 4 Sobriety, and, we each live a lifestyle in direct alignment with our offerings. Everything we do is donation based. Some come to us with nothing, and we never close the door. Because their healing is worth more than any dollar. But, we still have commitments to others. Rent, utilities, instructors. As a non profit we rely heavily on our community to help us continue to serve. So far in 2022 we were able to provide 88 pounds of non-perishable food, 57 bags of toiletries and 11 carloads of clothing to local families in need. We donated to over $2,700 to local non profits and have offered services to 7 sober houses. Since August 2022, over a dozen womxn have been referred to us from local Domestic Violence programs and each have been offered free one on one yoga, meditation and coaching to begin their healing journey and many have integrated into the Rooted family. Lives lifted, hearts changed. Your donatul dollars allow us to keep doing this.
In addition to all of this, with the overturning of Row vs. Wade and the autonomy that is being lost by millions of women across the nation, we were called into action. We have created a safe space for women seeking an abortion in New Jersey, especially those traveling here from out of state, to provide an opportunity to talk with a nurse midwife, opportunity to talk with a counselor, an opportunity to have someone drive them to and from their appointment as well as being supported by a community of women who understand, empathize, and support. We are committed to allowing women to maintain choice in one of the most difficult decisions of their life. The single choice affects not only them but everyone that they know and love. In order to continue offering assistance for these women free of charge, we need your support. imagine if you well but this was your mother, sister, Aunt, daughter, girlfriend, any woman in your life, would you be willing to support them?
My story of addiction & trauma is deep. From sexual assault & domestic violence, medical trauma and battles with alcohol and drugs, it wasn’t until I Rooted myself in the work of service & recovery that I truly found healing, and that is why this work is SO important.
Do you know anyone battling depression? Anxiety? Fear? PTSD? Do you know anyone who was assaulted? In an abusive relationship? Raped? Do you know anyone who self medicates? Abuses drugs or alcohol? Has an eating disorder or body dysmorphia? Is codependent? Faces other addictions like food, shopping, pornography?
If the answer is yes, would you be willing to donate to a local wellness center whose primary focus is enabling them to live their best life, whatever that looks like today, without the heavy burden of a price tag? To take time to go through the journey of healing? Investing in hope and staying connected to this present breath?
Because we offer everything on a donation basis, we are seeking help to continue these offerings, to keep the brick and mortar and to continue creating and cultivating programs to be brought into broader communities. Any support is greatly appreciated, and, tax deductible.

The light in me honors the light in you, namaste
