Help Fund Wheelchair Tennis Travel

The Rooster Wheelchair Tennis Team is a group of family, friends, and volunteers supporting Wheelchair Tennis Partners Chris Thomas and TreyBates to fulfill their aspirations of playing competitive wheelchair tennis at the highest level. The biggest challenge we face is the cost of travel.

We are raising funds to facilitate the Travel, Meals, and Entry Fees for 10 top USTA wheelchair tournaments for the 2023 season. Team Rooster is employing a funding strategy of grants, sponsorships, and crowdfunding to limit the economic detriment to their own families.

Four of our most significant events require air travel. The average cost for both players for these four tournaments, including Air-Fare, Hotel, and meals, is $1800 for each tournament. Our goal of $10,000 is for both players.

Chris and Trey met in the summer of 2022 during a wheelchair tennis clinic after realizing they both had the same goals and aspirations to play competitive wheelchair tennis at the highest level. A partnership formed into a friendship.

They played as double partners with great success, including winning the 2022 Charlotte Wheelchair Amateur Tennis Championship and being finalists in the 2022 Hilton Head PTR Divison B Wheelchair Tournament, the bond was forged to help each other be the best they could be and follow their goals to play top-level wheelchair tennis and Rooster Wheelchair Tennis Team was born.

Chris and Trey train separately and together weekly while attending monthly local wheelchair tennis clinics for coaching, fellowship, and supporting new players in the wheelchair tennis community.
