Theodore Roosevelt College & Career Academy
National Honor Society Chapter, Gary IN
The National Honor Society is an organization that established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Our members must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2; have outstanding discipline records and good attendance. Our organization focuses on community service and is currently organizing a school wide recycling program.
Our chapter would like to take a trip to Orlando, Florida. During this seven day trip, NHS will attend several days of training through Disney Youth Education Services. They will learn leadership, organizational, and team building skills. In addition, the students will take college campus tours and participate in the field trip program at the Kennedy Space Center.
Our chapter has already been hard at work raising funds for our trip. Your donation will help us reach our remaining goal of $2,500 to fund this trip of a lifetime for these bright, deserving students. Due to the socio-economic conditions surrounding our school and our students, fundraising is necessary to make this trip a reality. This may be the only opportunity these exceptional students may have to be exposed to these career options, campuses and travel experience. Please consider making a donation to our organization.
Sincerely,
