Let’s help Broonie beat locked in syndrome
Donation protected
Hi my name is Kris Leighton - As many of you know my best friend Steven Broonie Brown has developed a life changing condition, locked in syndrome, following a stroke last week. The chances of this happening following a stroke are near enough 1 in a million.
Locked-in syndrome (LIS) is a condition in which a patient is aware but cannot move or communicate verbally due to complete paralysis of nearly all voluntary muscles in the body except for vertical eye movements and blinking. Steven is conscious and sufficiently intact cognitively to be able to communicate with eye movements.
Steven is a father, step father, fiancé, son, brother and friend to many. We would be so grateful if you could make a small donation which would contribute to Broonies rehabilitation and any treatment down the line which is above what the NHS will provide.
This may include, equipment, care, accessibility and support for Stevens fiancé and children.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, let’s do all we can to help Steven and his family during this very difficult time.
