Rookery brewery start up

Please help mine and Ashley’s dream of starting our own small farmhouse brewery in the heart of Milwaukee. We need the help of the community to get this project off the ground so we can bring you the highest quality and creative brews in Milwaukee. Rookery Brewing Company specializes in farmhouse and sour brewing with an emphasis on how barrel aging and environment interact in their products. Through the use of barrel aging and adjuncts, like fruit and spices, they deliver a high quality product that will peak the interest and diversity of all beer drinkers. They will be located in the already existing Mobcraft Brewery and will have a unique bi-­‐monthly (twice monthly) release schedule that will consist of two beers per release. One of those beers will always be a take on the beloved IPA (Indian Pale Ale) while the other will be a revolving specialty beer that will consist of one-­‐offs, barrel aged, and fruited variants. All these beers will be of the highest quality and are extremely limited in production. Here at Rookery brewing company we want to deliver an experience of creative libations that can satisfy Milwaukee’s most creative and inspired beer drinkers but also appeal to the novice. Rookery Brewing Company is a project that hailed for our love of nature, environment, art, birds, and of course beer. We always knew we loved beer, but about five years ago we transitioned from creating fine art and selling it in galleries, to creating beer that can be enjoyed by the masses. The same creativity, style, and passion that we used in our art is now being used to create unique beers that people can enjoy while doing whatever it is they love and are passionate about. The idea came to us as we were taking a leisurely walk around a lagoon, searching for that rare elusive bird and taking in the beautiful scenery and nature. We brought a picnic and of course a few malted beverages to enjoy. The moment was total bliss. Everything we loved and where passionate about was right there in front of us. Being the creative minds we are, we concocted an idea for a brewing project that would combine everything we loved to create a unique brand and products that would appeal to people of all ages, races, nationalities and class. On that hike around the lagoon we foraged berries and dandelions to use in some upcoming batches of beer. We wanted nature and local terrior to dictate how the beers turned out. Brewing to us is such a natural experience. We do not want to be like the “Big Beer Companies” and have people dictate the flavors of their product. It turns the product bland, uninspiring, and machanically produced. We want nature and time to play a huge roll in our beers to create those nuances of flavors found in fine wines and other great beers around the world.
