Roof for Vikki

Hi Friends,  

As many of you know, Vikki spent the last several months helping our dear friend Claudia battle a cruel and unfair disease.  

Because of her kindness and humility, Vikki will say that Claudia had a long line of friends ready and willing to help. While this may certainly be true, Vikki was the one who sat with Claudia, day and night. The one who advocated for her needs and comfort. Who held her hand when she cried in the middle of the night. Who massaged her legs and arms when the bed cramps set in. Vikki made sure Claudia had visitors to bring her smiles and lift her spirits, but not so many that would overwhelm her. Vikki was Claudia's rock, caretaker and angel throughout her journey.

What many may not know — a few years ago, Vikki lost her own health, career and home. But, Vikki being Vikki, she made lemonade out of those big bad lemons. She sold everything and traveled through South America with her dogs. She made it as far as Guatemala before heading home so that Claudia (and her dog Ally, from Vikki’s breeding) could have a litter of puppies. It seems obvious now, that she wasn't called back to midwife a litter of puppies, but to be here for Claudia.

Unfortunately, now Vikki's "home" (her camper) has a leaky roof that may cost between $2000 to $8000 to fix. So, as a thank you for taking care of our dear friend Claudia, we're raising money to help cover the roof expense. 

If you can donate just a few $$, that would be wonderful. And spread the word...but not to Vikki as we'd like to keep this a surprise (since she has a hard time accepting gifts and praise from others). Also, we are pretty sure if she finds out, she'll go straight through what's left of her roof!

When we do give her this gift, we will tell her it’s from the Village...so she can't return it.  (-;
