Hello ! My name is Ronya Ahmad. I am a single mother of a 17 year old. I became a single mom at a very young age and was disowned by my religious and strict family. With a baby to take care of, I had to put my dreams of medical school on hold to raise my son. I had to choose a path that would allow me to give back to others at the same time being involved in my son life. So, I continued my education in Education and became a school teacher. I even received a Master's in Education. I love teaching but my passion is for the medical field.
Last year, I finally decide to go for it and went back to school part time as I worked. It was not easy but, I was able to finish all the prerequisites. Unfortunately, I must pay for school out of pocket each semester. As a single mom it has forced me to use my savings and to seek ways to help pay for my dreams.
I was accepted in the accelerated nursing program for Miami Dade College come Spring 2021. Although, a huge blessing it comes at a cost. I will not be able to work and I will be forced to resign from my teaching job of 14 years. It is a great sacrifice! I never not worked and paid for my own and my son. I do not qualify for student loans or aid. I owe over 60 thousand debt due to my Masters program. My debt is high. Any kind of help or support is greatly appreciated.
