Ron's Bunten's Medical Fund

Dear Friends,
On March 22nd this year my brother Ron suffered a random seizure in his kitchen.  While doing so he fell and hit his head causing him to fracture his neck.  Once in the emergancy room the doctors were intending to treat him with a neck brace and blood thinners, however, were concerned the fracture had nicked a blood vessel to the brain.  Well it did and with-in eight hours he suffered a major brain stem stroke.  The hosiptal induced a coma and when Ron came out he was diagnosed with 'Locked In Syndrom".  Basically he was fully concious with no brain damage from the nose up and fully paralized on full life support from the nose down.  We had at least twelve doctors say he would not make it.  Either way the outcome was poor.  Since then  Ron has slowy began to recover.  He is now moving, sitting up in a wheel chair, using mostly his right side, learning to talk, swallow, eat, and has all but the feeding tub removed for life support.  He is making progress nobody thought he would make and it's an amazing miracle to observe.  Truely the human spirit in action.  Why we are doing fund raising is this condition is so rare that rehabilation is difficiult and it can take up to a year.  The health care really only allows for 6-8 weeks.  The money we raise will be to continue his journey at home with thearpy and care givers.  If you know Ron or if you don't, believe his sister when I say 'he's on way to a full recovery'.  Just needs a little assistance to get there!  Prayers are welcome too.  Whatever is in your heart.  God bless.
