Help Ronaldo to continue his PhD studies

Hello,

My name is Ronaldo, I am originally from Paraguay but I am now studying in England.

Currently, I am a PhD Candidate studying Education and Psychology at the University of Warwick, in England. My PhD research focus is on translating, adapting, implementing and evaluating a numeracy programme called Teaching Early Numeracy Skills to Children with Developmental Disabilities (TEN-DD) in my home country, Paraguay. This programme was developed and tested in the United Kingdom, showing promising results for students with a developmental disability who attend school in high-income countries (Tzanakaki et al., 2014a; Tzanakaki, Hastings, Grindle, Hughes & Hoare, 2014b). However, this programme has not yet been implemented in a low-income country like Paraguay.  I want to conduct my empirical studies in low to middle-income countries and find out where action research is still emerging. Hence, the development of these studies could result in world-leading initiatives.

The reason I am launching this campaign is that this year I am having a significant financial difficulty to continue my PhD studies, and because of my family background, I am unable to rely on my family to support me through my PhD studies. Even when my outstanding academic record has enabled me to win a substantial scholarship from my government to study at the University of Warwick. Unfortunately, the university tuition fees for students from outside the European Union have risen very markedly for international students. This has meant that I now have very inadequate funding so support my field research in Paraguay and cover my living expenses to study in the UK. I have shown enormous resilience in the face of this unexpected situation. I have been already working (teaching) to the limit of my visa conditions in order to earn some money to support my living expenses and research but these visa conditions mean it is not possible for me to earn enough to make up for the shortfall between my scholarship funding and the cost involved in completing my research and covering my living expenses in the UK. This teaching hour was also affected by COVID-19. This support of each of you would enable me to complete my PhD which will have practical and meaningful outcomes for children with autism and intellectual disabilities in Paraguay.

As proof of this difficulty, I have attached my scholarship letter of my government. If you need  more these details, please contact me at Ronaldo-luis.rodas-[email redacted].uk

THANK YOU, and one thing for sure is that I will take advantage of all this support to keep expanding my knowledge and experiences, and, if, given the opportunity to do so, I will, without a doubt, put forth all of my effort and determination to exceed the expectations placed on me.
