Romeo’s TPLO Surgery (for torn CCL)
Hi Everyone! As most of you know, I have never posted a fundraiser like this before; however, this time is different. My most precious 5 yr old Great Dane/German Sheppard, Romeo, has sustained a life-impacting injury to his knee, as we would call a torn ACL. For a dog, it is known as the Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) and Romeo has sustained a severe tear to this ligament in his right knee. We have been coping with his discomfort over the past few months with extensive pain medication as he is fully lame and non-weight bearing without medical intervention. Due to the severity of his injury/discomfort and all 110 lbs of this big active boy, we have decided that a TPLO surgery will be his best option for his long term health and well-being. The surgery is called Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) and will provide support and stabilization to his knee using metal plates and bone realignment. This surgery will prevent permanent, irreversible damage to his knee joint and will give him the comfort/ability to walk and run again, without pain. His surgery is scheduled for the end of January and has an upward cost of $6,000. Due to drowning in his already accrued vet bills (+$1,000), I am asking friends and family and anyone who might have a few dollars to donate to Romeo, so that he can get this surgery and the proper recovery he needs. We would be forever grateful and would repay you with a lifetime spamming of cute and happy dog pics!!!
