Romano Family Adoption

Our family has decided to adopt privately. Adoption and foster care have both been on Samantha’s heart particularly for over a decade. As a single parent, she knew she wanted to eventually adopt. God laid it on her heart, although she didn’t know what that would look like. A few years ago, Samantha was diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis. During the span of about 2 years, she underwent several procedures, and met with complications, resulting in the need to have an endometrial ablation. The attending  physician would not move forward with this procedure unless a tubal ligation was performed as well. Without the tubal ligation, the risk of future birth complications, tubal pregnancy, miscarriage, etc. were even more likely to occur. Therefor, moving forward with necessary procedures, meant the inability to have another child. At this age in life, single, and having already been able to become pregnant, and give birth to her daughter, she considered herself blessed. Lenny and Samantha met in 2017, and Lenny became stepfather to their daughter in 2019. Lenny has been the only father their daughter has ever known. After marrying, the realization became even more heavy that the couple wouldn’t have a child together biologically. Lenny has never had the opportunity to raise a child from birth but has been the most amazing father imaginable. It’s because of this, we are starting the process of looking into private adoption. This option, however, means a heavy financial expense. Private infant adoption costs can range from $30-$50k. These costs include agency fees, attorney fees, birth mother care, etc. Aside saving personally, grants, and other possible options to assist in costs; we’re reaching out to our loved ones, friends, and anyone who might want to play a part in our journey.
