Roman History/ADA Legal Defense

Hello! My name is Sara Ahbel-Rappe and I am a professor of Classical Studies at the University of Michigan. One of our graduates who got her PhD in Classical Studies and earned tenure at her institution is now fighting an ADA lawsuit against her department for illegally firing her owing to complications resulting from medical issues. 
Her friends are getting together to help her with legal expenses. She was illegally and summarily fired in violation of her institution's board of regents by-laws and in violation of the ADA. She is being targeted because of her disabilities and she needs help in fighting back.  
This money will be used to help her retain representation and file a suit to prove her case and regain her position. 
This is a time sensitive matter as she must act as quickly as possible to restore her position. A trusted colleague will be handling all the finances which will go directly to her lawyer.

For us in Classics, seeing a disabled scholar who fought for tenure and has contributed to the field and managed to continue teaching despite suffering  a stroke, is shocking, wrong, outrageous and illegal. We need to fight this kind of discrimination. Anyone could be the victim of a callous administration with no regard for legal procedures or the meaning of tenure.

She has had an uphill struggle in her department but has prevailed through everything life has handed her.
