Rolling for the River WCRR

To raise much needed funds for Waterford City River Rescue Martin, Paddy and Brian from JC Breens Transport have taken on the mammoth task of trucking around Ireland in 24 hours in a truck sponsored by JC Breens Transport. This event intends to raise awareness of suicide prevention and the search and rescue services provided by Waterford City River Rescue. Rolling for the River will take place on 10th of December. Martin and his crew will leave at 18:30 from the Quay, outside the GPO in Waterford and will arrive back in Waterford 24 hours later. Waterford City River Rescue is a non-profit organisation that operates a voluntary Search and Rescue Service on the River Suir from Mount Congreve to Cheekpoint. Our volunteers provide this essential service on a 24-hour basis, 365 days a year.

They are a member of the Community Rescue Boats of Ireland (CRBI) and affiliated with the Irish Coast Guard, having successfully completed their stringent assessments and examinations of crew and equipment.

Their crews are all volunteers and are trained and equipped to the highest standards and are subject to annual assessments by the CRBI and, or the Irish Coast Guard, which ensures that the highest professional standards are maintained.

Waterford City River Rescue as a voluntary organization must seek funding through sponsorship and donations from the public, in order to provide a professional service to our community.
