Roland’s Medical Expenses

Update from Jenn!
Praise be to God- we are home!
Short version ➡️ Roland had a stomach bug that resulted in severe dehydration and roughed up his GI tract. After 2+ weeks of spending time in the ICU, numerous scans, tests, IV lines, a PICC line, multiple no eat 24 hour orders, a stay at both Mercy and Children’s and many blood panels he has recovered and is back home! Thank you for to the many people that prayed, called, texted, ordered/paid for meals, and contributed to a go-fund me to help us with our expenses. My work was incredibly understanding - which was an amazing blessing. The doctors, nurses, and staff at the various medical facilities showed us great love and care❤️Also- a MAJOR thank you to my mother-in-law Nancy Notz who selflessly sacrificed an entire week to stay with Roland and I in the hospital so Josh could keep things steady on the home front, and to also provide that guidance and support that all wished to give but were unable to because of COVID restrictions.

It is not a solidarity of personal will that held us up in this recent tempest- it was the pure will and grace of God-displayed in a myriad of both subtle and obvious ways. We are so full of joy that God has blessed us with a full and complete recovery - praise be to Him! I encourage all to connect deeply with our loving God and with a strong community of believers- I’ve found it invaluable!

Original post: I am raising funds for our nephew, Roland. He has been fighting a virus that has affected his absorption of fluids and kidney/liver function. He has been dehydrated requiring IV fluids secondary to unexplained diarrhea and vomiting for almost a week. He was admitted to Mercy Hospital earlier this week and discharged yesterday when it appeared he was recovering. Last night he resumed diarrhea with extreme loss of fluids and was admitted to Children’s hospital today. He is extremely weak. My brother, Josh, and sister in law, Jennifer, are exhausted and still have no real answers as to what is happening with their son. They have insurance but the unexpected time off work and  still having bills to pay is something I hope to help with by creating this account. Please share and keep sweet baby Roland in your prayers! He is just 4 months old.
