My name is Xóchitl and I am close the Scott's and their extended family.
Last Tuesday, I got a call from Quincy that his little brother passed away to which I responded, "Who?" And he responded "Who else?" I was in shock. Just like everyone else who has learned of this devastating news. Rojon Scott was 40 years old. A confident man, father of three, partner, son, brother, friend and barber to the Oakland community and many.
Rojon passed away last Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his home. He went home from work, was folding clothes when his heart stopped working. The causes are unknown until the autopsy is concluded.
Rojon better known everyone as "Ro" and who I referred to as my cousin, worked at Blitz Barbershop in Oakland. He had 8 plus years under his belt and nothing but love from the community. He loved his family deeply, as well as Afrikan history, playing basketball, good music, barbering and recently a strong interest in cosmetology.
Ro is survived by his children, Tayvon, Taliah, Anya, his mother Andrea, his brother Quincy "Q", his sisters Gracia & Sophia, his partner Katina and his nephew Amir. Ro is also survived by many other family members including his Aunt Lynn, cousins Vanessa, Damon, and many, many other close relatives who are all shocked by his passing.
It is never convenient or easy.
I am writing on behalf of the Scott family to raise funds for Rojon's Funeral and support for his family being held next Thursday in Oakland.
I appreciate anyone who is able to give at this time. Especially prayers, at this time for the Scott family and those affected by this sudden loss. If it were not for being involved in making arrangements, I would not believe this unexpected event.
Thank you for your time and support.
