Rogers Family - Boley, OK

Donation protected

Good Day,

I am writing about the Rogers family in Boley, OK, who have fallen on some very hard times. They have lost everything.

The family has been living out of their SUV that is also broken down. Their trailer/mobile home furnace caught on fire and caused a massive loss of items. Unfortunately, they still had to live in that burnt trailer and had to transition to the SUV due to a roach infestation making it completely uninhabitable.  While living in the condemned trailer and their car they were able to save some money for another trailer.  That trailer was about $1500 with moving fees and it is in very bad shape itself almost unlivable. It was many months of saving to get that money. When I showed up Wednesday night Dec 20th, they were sitting on a floor with no light as they couldn't afford to get electricity hooked up.

The parents Roger and Kim were working before. Roger was in a serious accident leaving him disabled 2 1/2 to 3 years ago and Kim lost her job when the local shelter she worked at closed down a few months ago.  They have 5 kids ages 2 thru 8.

This family is in CRISIS.

We have taken multiple loads out this week to them.  I wish I could say it was making a dent.  They lost everything.  Please check out the pictures of the family and the place they are living now.  The kids were sleeping on the floor until we brought mattresses topper and mattresses. Currently, there is a large hole in the side of the new trailer, it is real and very cold inside.

We have electric turned on now as of 12-22-2017, however, the furnace needs a gas line and is not all electric. and they do not have gas at the property hooked up.  As of now they do not have natural gas, running water or sewer hooked up. The unit still needs to be shored up among many many other items.

If we can raise enough money we will buy them a good trailer or small house depending on what can be raised. Help them get neccesities and get them back on their feet. It has taken the police Chief and myself days of talking with them to get pictures and to have them open up to assistance.  This is not a family looking for a hand out.

For those who want more information before donating please  contact the Police Chief of Boley or the Mayor of Boley's office reference the URL of this page (gofundme.com/RogersFamilyBoley)    This is the official page to help the Rogers family in Boley.

At this time we are trying to raise money for a new place for them to live a trailer or house.  The pics below are of the new trailer that arrived yesterday.  It is better than the one they were living in. I put a goal of 25k, whatever we can raise will be of help.  All funds will go to help this family get back on their feet. Thank you greatly for any assistance. Thank you for any help.

Below are picture I took on 12-22-2017.

This is the new trailer they saved for.  As you can see it is missing a large chunk.  It is about 8 to 9 feet wide.

This is where the kids are sleeping. It is a matress topper.  We are trying to get the foam mattresses from Walmart to open up but since it has been 30 degress inside the trailer they wond rise up.

This is where the Kitchen should be.  Yes that board is holding up the ceiling.

Can see the whole new trailer is not in the best of shape. We are going to try to get them something else if we can raise enough money.

The car they have been living out of.   The Blue car is where they were storing what little they could save from the other trailer. The blue car doesn't work at all and the white suv dies often and is not really drivable more than a few miles before it quits.  They can get some heat but the car won't stay running.

Part of the furnance and a large hole in the floor.

The other bedroom in the trailer.

The hole from the inside the wind blows the curtain open.

The kids.  They have coats now thanks to Jerri and Jodi! It was 30 degrees inside when I took this picture.  They are keeping upbeat but cold.

Kevon is 8, Cheyann is 7, Aryaniya 6, Haley 5 and Tristin is 2.

If you are unable to help please send this link to somone else who may be able to help.  We need to get this out to raise the money needed to get them home, safe and warm.

As part of the gofundme requirements for a gofundme account we need to put the following in to address the following questions to keep our account from getting suspended:

1.    How you are related to your beneficiary

I am not related to Rogers family I am a friend who became involved after the chief of Police told me about what he found when on patrol.

2.    That you are withdrawing the funds in your name

I will be managing the funds and overseeing the spend of funds to benefit Rogers family. This way we can ensure the money is spent on what they need directly and to get them into a liveable home.  We have an excel sheet for tracking and keeping all receipts.

3.    How exactly you will be delivering the funds to your beneficiary or using the money on their behalf

The fund will be used for getting things moved and setup and repaired, cleaned up.  Anything extra will be used to help them monthly until they are back on their feet.  They are living on $600 a month.

For any other questions or concerns please contact the Boley Chief of Police.
