In Loving Memory of Roger Rodgers

Our hearts are so heavy as we try to wrap our heads around everything that has happened the past couple of days. The world has lost a truly irreplaceable man. My father has touched so many lives, many of which I'm sure we'll never even know. For a man so small in size, he had enough personality and heart to fill the voids of a giant. He loved his family more deeply and more passionately than some people would get to feel in a thousand lifetimes. We are so fortunate to have ha...d the opportunity to feel that love, and know without an ounce of uncertainty that our children will be better people because of their time spent with him.

We haven't quite decided yet how we are going to move on from this in one piece. We have been overwhelmed from the outpouring of love and acts of kindness we have received as we begin this extremely painful process of healing. So many have asked what they can do. The best thing you can possibly do for us is to carry on his memory. He would want us to remember the good times and the laughter. He loved to make others laugh. He would want us to find peace. While that seems so unattainable right now, I know that he will help to guide us there somehow.

We love you, daddy. We will forever carry you in our hearts. We will never forget your memories and the lessons you taught us along the way. We'll think of you each time we hear the beating of a hummingbird's wings or watch a good thunderstorm rolling in from the porch. We will try our best to love without hesitation or boundaries. Above all, we will carry you on through our memories and our actions. You will never be forgotten. Until we meet again.
