<div>I’ve never asked publicly for assistance and up to recently, not even from a friend, individual, or family member. I have always prided myself on having self-stability. This year has been tough for everyone, so it was hard for me to humble myself to ask for assistance.

<div>Let me start at this moment now. It is 12/26/2024, and I’m sitting in the hospital after having surgery on the 24th for a blood infection on my foot that ended in an amputation of a toe. This is in part due to not taking medication for Diabetes Type 2. Why? Because I have no healthcare at this time. <strong>I am a Marine Corps Veteran, I fought for our Country during Desert Storm and earned combat awards.</strong> I’ve been working on a VA Claim since April to get coverage for my medical conditions. Hopefully, this will fulfill soon.

<div>Up till this moment, I have done everything to survive and keep a roof over me and my daughter. I went through a divorce, layoff, and burned through 100% of my capital just to survive. Job interviews were going through lengthy amounts of time, and I was getting deeper and deeper. I was able to find side jobs to help me pay the rent and at least keep the lights on. Every financial obligation did not matter outside of that. I just had to survive long enough to get out of this deep hole.

<div>Well, I finally persevered and found a Networking Engineering Role on Dec 9th. I only have two weeks in the role, and here I sit in this moment. I can see that faint light drawing me to the end of the tunnel. With that said, I am paid hourly, so sitting in this hospital with no insurance is pushing me down again. <strong>As much as I take on this world alone and accept the challenges, I have to throw in the towel and get built back up for the next fight.</strong> I need assistance, and every little bit is a blessing.
