Hi, my name is Sonia I’m fundraising on behalf of my husband Rodney. We have been together 28 years and we have 2 daughters 18 and 22. My husband was diagnosed congestive heart failure (CHF) since 2016. With diet and exercise he has been able to manage CHF for 7 years. We had an established handy man and cleaning service business in the beautiful sun city of El Paso. Unfortunately last month 4/4/23 he was treated for pneumonia and was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. Things took a turn last week my husband had to be airlifted from El Paso to Galveston because he went into cardiogenic shock and his organs were failing. I had to leave my El Paso life and relocate to Galveston.

My husband had open heart surgery on Monday 5/22/23, LVAD was placed to assist left ventricle while he waited for heart transplant.

Unfortunately things took another turn for the worse. He was doing great for two days. And then on 5/25/23 his blood pressure dropped to very low levels the doctors and nurses adjusted his blood pressure medications, they adjusted the right assist pump because the right part of the heart started to fail, nothing was working, his kidneys started to give out along with all his other organs. They started continuous dialysis too and he tolerated for a bit before his blood pressure dropped to very low levels they had to stop pulling fluid. Doctors said there was nothing else they could do. My husband passed away peacefully on 05/26/23! Please help me celebrate his life. Rodney was such a kind, selfless human being. He loved me and his daughters so much.
