MY FRIEND RODNEY NEEDS YOUR HELP!

My name is John Carley, I am starting this Go Fund Me account for my friend/co-worker Rodney Patterson.

Rodney is a proud Veteran of the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1982.

Rodney had an acute ischemic left MCA stroke on February 23, 2018 and was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was stabilized. Unfortunately, he has loss the use of his right arm and lower leg as well as some paralysis on the right side of his face.

On February 29th Rodney was admitted into Southern Crescent Traumatic Brain Injury Center in McDonough Georgia for intensive physical therapy rehabilitation. Rodney has shown some progress during his stay with speech therapy, some movement in his right shoulder and is now able to use a cane for short walks in the facility.


With continued care and therapy we are confident that he will continue to improve.

Unfortunately, due to his insurance limitations Rodney has had to vacate Southern Crescent rehabilation center on April 14th. Rodney's insurance rus out the end of May. Currently he is going to a physical therapist twice a week.

Rodney has been out of work since he had the stroke and while our employer, Shiflett Enterprises Inc. has responded wonderfully, he still needs financial support. His savings has been depleted and his bills are mounting up with no end in sight. He has applied for disability and is hopeful he will be approved soon.

Rodney has been a dedicated and hard-working man all his life, often working two jobs to support his family. This sudden stroke has left this gentle giant of a man with few options.  His son and nephew  have stepped up and will be staying with him and taking him to appointments as he recovers but he is dire need of help.

Any contribution no matter how small you can provide to help Rodney  would be very much appreciated!
