Rode's Fire Recovery Fund

We need your help to rally around Mike and Angela Rode.  We are devastated by the news of Mike and Angie’s entire loss of home and all personal belongings in this recent Atlas Peak Fire.  Everything is gone and the whole family is obviously shaken - but most importantly, safe!  Mike, Angie, Marie, and Michelle… We are blessed you are alive and safe!!

It is our hope to offset unexpected expenses and provide monetary relief to help ease the burden they are now faced with.  We are reaching out to friends and family to please consider making a recovery donation on behalf of Mike and Angela Rode.

Sadly, they were awakened at 10 pm this past Sunday evening with the sound of fire and two missed calls from friends that literally saved their lives with minutes to spare.  In a brief moment, they had to make a decision… without hesitation they swept up their sweet Marie and their newly adopted daughter Michelle from their beds and sped down the road, flames in the close distant.  Marie crying, "Mommy are we going to die?"  With only the clothes on their back, they narrowly escaped from a red glowing Soda Canyon up in flames.

Not knowing the status of their home, Mike followed Angie down the lane, stopping to help neighbors trapped behind their gates, and driving down side roads to warn neighbors.  The Marine training in Mike kicked in without fail.  Mike, a U.S. Marine fought in the Iraq & Afghan Wars and was a Flight Engineer on a C130 for years.  He assured his family’s safety and also his neighbors this night.

Mike on September 11th, 2001 was called to active duty to serve our country, like so many others, to protect our freedoms, and now it’s time for us to come to aid our Marine and his family.  While we can’t replace everything, we can certainly help ease their burden through this devastation and great loss.

The Rodes give so much and love their friends and family so unconditionally.  They are humble, kind, resilient, courageous, selfless, faithful, and faith strong!  Mike, Angie, Marie and Michelle wait for whatever tomorrow brings their way.  

Many thanks to their friends (one of many) who have opened up their home to them - while they sort through this chaos.  They are truly blessed to have ALL their friends who are willing to help them in their time of need.
