Rod Bobele Memorial Fund

Update [08.12.2020]: I never imagined that I would ever need to make such a heartbreaking announcement on this GoFundMe page. Unfortunately, Rod joined the angels and ended his
long battle with cancer. I refuse to say he lost the battle because he was nothing short of a
champion. His positivity shown through every step of the way, showing us light, even in the
dark places. He deserved a long lifetime of happiness.

Thank you to everyone who has donated previously, I know how appreciative Rod and his
family are for all of your kindness. We couldn’t have done it without you; but now, I am asking
for your help one more time so that we may help his wonderful family during this tragedy.

“If you work in the hospitality industry in the downtown Orlando area, it is highly likely that you have seen, met, and held a conversation with the amazing person that is Rod Bobele. 

For those that are less fortunate and do not know him, Rod has worked in downtown Orlando for numerous years. From cooking up some of our favorite dishes at Kres Steakhouse, to providing a great party experience at Electric Daisy Carnival, to currently managing Team Management Group's newest lounge, The Robinson Room; however, Rod is more than just a professional in the nightlife scene. He is the best son, a kind friend, a caring fur-parent, and an extraordinary human being.

Rod was suddenly taken to the hospital a couple of months ago complaining of a severe headache upon which they discovered a mass in his brain that required surgical removal. After examining the biopsy, they discovered that Rod has a really rare form of lung cancer that would require one round of radiation followed by years of medication. Throughout this process Rod has been his own light in such a dark situation. His unwavering positivity has been true to his character.

While we are all happy to see Rod out of the hospital and getting back to work, we cannot forget the immense cost of such a diagnosis. For this reason, we have started this fundraiser in order to help him with the cost of his prolonged hospital stay, radiation, and additional medical treatment. Rod has always been one of the firsts to offer help when needed and I know he would be grateful for his community returning the favor.
