<div>in securing his future. Rocky, a resilient deaf Pitbull, was rescued just before facing euthanasia at the Carson Animal Shelter. When he arrived, he was diagnosed with pneumonia, a condition exacerbated by neglect that hinted at a troubled past. Despite his hardships, Rocky's gentle spirit immediately touched our hearts, and we knew we had to step in to give him the life he deserves. I worked with Kelsey @themcdonoughrescue to bring this sweet boy to freedom.

<div>Meet Rocky, a brave 3-year-old Pitbull whose journey to safety has been nothing short of miraculous. Rocky was rescued from the brink of euthanasia at the Carson Animal Shelter, diagnosed with pneumonia and wearing a harness that hinted at a life recently abandoned. His fate changed dramatically on Friday, July 12th, when we stepped in to give him a chance at life.

<div>Rocky's initial days in rescue were hopeful. After spending a weekend with a temporary foster, plans were made to transport him to a loving home in Canada. However, a routine x-ray before his journey revealed a devastating truth: Rocky was suffering from a diaphragmatic hernia, a condition where his organs were pushing into his lungs, causing severe breathing difficulties. The sight of fluid-filled lungs turned what should have been a routine procedure into a fight for his life.

<div>Initially given bleak odds of survival—less than 15%—by a local vet, Rocky's resilience and will to live spurred his rescuers into action. Kelsey, one of Rocky's dedicated caretakers, tirelessly searched for a specialist capable of performing the delicate surgery he desperately needed. Their efforts paid off when they found a surgeon experienced in diaphragmatic hernia repairs, who offered a renewed hope with a promising 90% chance of survival.

<div>However, the road ahead is not without challenges. The cost of Rocky's life-saving surgery and his subsequent care is estimated at $8,000 USD— plus travelling cost. A daunting figure for any rescue organization or individual. But for Rocky, every dollar raised means a second chance at life, a chance to experience the love and care he deserves after such a rough start.
