The story we're sharing now has been a difficult one to write down.
Rocket is our beloved American XL Bully, he's been bred by Quality Bullies Belgium and his parents are Secret and Camaro. Ever since he was 5 months old Rocket has been limping and having troubles walking but because he was still growing it could've been growing pain. But, the situation only got worse. After 2 months he started to walk very bad and we went from one vet to another. After a lot of consults with different veterinarians we found out our Rocket has really bad knees. His knees are so bad that one knee was already bone on bone without any cartilage left which has caused severe damage. We updated the breeder from Rocket with this news.
After our last visit with an orthopedic specialist we found out our dear Rocket has another hereditary disease. He doesn't just have very bad knees but also an 8th lumbar vertebra. This will cause a problem around the age of 4-6 years, such as a hernia and arthritis. Rocket has to be on pain medication and supplements for the rest of his life. He will get everything he needs and we will find a suitable way for him to be the dog he deserves to be.
Rocket will have his first TPLO surgery this Wednesday. Next year his other knee will follow. Again we have notified the breeder about the situation. We have had an extreme amount of costs during the past few months and unfortunately we now have to ask for help to pay for the surgeries. In total it will be €4200,- which will partially be covered by the insurance company.
We're asking everyone who reads this to make a donation for our boy, every single penny is a step towards a better life for Rocket.
Quality Bullies Belgium has not been reliable, supportive or helpful and has bred the father of Rocket, 'Camaro', multiple times AFTER we have send the proof of Rocket his multiple HEREDITARY diseases. They have sold Rocket to us under false pretences. They have claimed their dogs to be health tested even though they have no proof of the actual health testing. There is no documentation from an orthopedic veterinarian which shows the dogs are health tested according to the highest standards. There is NO PROOF of health testing accept some x-rays from a normal veterinarian. There is no proof at all of the x-rays even being taken from those dogs and the x-rays could be from any dog. Quality Bullies Belgium has continued to breed Camaro to multiple females without any health testing according to the highest standards with an orthopedic veterinarian.
