Robyn's Lung Anti-Rejection Support

Donation protected
Robyn DeKeyser is an inspiration to so many.  Her needs are not something she openly shares with most but the time & need is now for your support.   Please donate whatever you can.  Every dollar counts & will help Robyn and her family greatly.

Robyn has had a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). In 2011 she was placed on the lung transplant list as her lungs were failing.  By May 2012, most of her family and friends were preparing to say good-bye to an oxygen dependant and very frail Robyn.  Yet, she still had that amazing smile on her face.  A miraculous call came on July 22, 2012 that Robyn's prayers were being answered.  On July 23, 2012 Robyn underwent a long, amazing surgery and received a double lung transplant! The recovery was hard but in typical Robyn fashion, she smiled and let her body accept her amazing new lungs.

What Robyn endures on a daily basis is something most of us can never understand.  She wakes up to take breathing treatments & takes almost 30 pills each day including the anti-rejection medication she has to be on.  She has to take her temperature multiple times each day to ensure she doesn't have an infection.  Should she feel "off" or run a temperature, she has to see her team of doctors in Tampa.  She has to have monthly blood work, bronchosopies & biposies as needed and a regimen of tests every 2-3 months to ensure she is not rejecting her lungs.  All these blood draws and test are done over 2 hours away from home in Tampa.

In December 2015 Robyn started feeling tired and not herself. Her lung functions quickly declined and she had a fever. After much testing, the doctors found she had aspergillus and pneumonia. Robyn had a Piccline put in and was placed on heavy antibiotics. Those medicines have had side effects that have damaged her kidneys (hopefully temporarily) and her lung functions are still low.  She has been back and forth from Tampa many times since December and is slowly regaining her stamina.  There are more tests and more medications to come in the following weeks for Robyn.

With that all being said, ROBYN NEEDS OUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT NOW!!!  Robyn is still paying off medical expenses from the double lung transplant in 2012.  She incurs over $2000 out-of-pocket monthly expenses to get prescriptions filled that help keep her lungs from rejecting.  And, has deductibles to meet for every doctor visit and test that has to be done.
Robyn's is living in a home with a failing airconditioning unit that desperately needs replaced.  It is crucial that the air Robyn lives in at home is mold free.  Living in Florida, you must have airconditioning in your home to control that humidity and prevent the mold.  Robyn and Steve also have 2 cars that have broken air conditioners and are breaking down on a regular basis.  Simply put, they can not afford to get a new air conditioning unit in their home or get new cars as their daily expenses leave them nothing extra.

So, PLEASE DONATE whatever you can.  Please share this site with whomever you can.  Every dollar counts! We want Robyn to breath easy and help take the financial burden of getting a new air conditioner in their home off her shoulders.  We hope to raise enough money to get them 2 new car as well.   They need the safety and security to know their means of transportation will get them to/from Tampa safely.

Robyn, Steve, Madison & Ashton greatly appreciate any and all support.

WE LOVE YOU ROBYN xoxo
