Our rookie Robotics Team made it to FRC World Championship. Help us travel there!

Our First Robotics Competition (FRC) Team, 6824, was founded by Dawn Trujillo, in 2017 at Las Vegas Academy, which is a magnet performing arts school in downtown Las Vegas. The Robot Pigeons are named after the unofficial school mascot, the Pigeons. Our team consists of around ten students and two mentors.

Our team includes students from many different majors, such as dance, theater, band, and many more. We came together through our shared interest in robotics.

As a rookie team, we came into robotics knowing little about how to build a robot and be successful in the competition.  Now we  have not only built a robot, but we have developed strong communication, problem solving, and leadership skills.  Early in the completion, we decided to focus on our robot's strengths and were able to provide a distinct role on a strong three team alliance.  We are proud to say that we got 2nd place in the Las Vegas Regionals and are headed to FRC Worlds as a Wildcard team. We hope to continue our learning at FRC Nationals and you came help get us there.

The Robot Pigeons are part of a larger organization called F.I.R.S.T. Robotics (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be leaders in science and technology by engaging them in mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, while also building self-esteem, life skills, and community awareness.
