Need Eye Surgery

I have been diagnosed with an eye disease called Keratoconus www.nkcf.com. The corneas in both of my eyes are thinning and my eyes are bulging into a cone shape. The photo below display how I see except I also have blurring. I can't drive at night and I am soon to be unable to drive during the day. There is a procedure called cross linking that will halt the progression of the disease. See www.nkcf.org for an explanation of the procedure. This procedure is not FDA approved in the United States so my health insurance won't pay for it. The discounted cost of the procedure is about $8000.00.
I have found a clinic in Germany that will do the same procedure for $929.00.
I am trying to raise money to travel to Frankfurt, Germany with a companion and have the surgery at the very same clinic where the surgery was invented. I wish I didn't have to raise the money this way. If it was not something that is so progressive I would wait until FDA approval but that is not the case.
