Robert “Bobby” J. Smith, 50, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Thursday, Dec 21st.

Robert was born April 2, 1967 in Denver, Colorado and was a lifelong resident. He worked as a contractor on federal grants, was an Eagle Scout, member of the Latter-Day Saints Church, Douglas County Elks Lodge #2873, the National Rifle Association and the Tibetan Terrier Association.  Robert was a simple man who boasted being a “red-neck”.  He completed his AA in Drafting and Business and was pursuing his BA in Business.  He enjoyed long drives in the mountains, tooling around the family farm, fishing, wood working, barbequing, shooting, routing for Alabama; “Roll Tide!” and a good bourbon whiskey.  Nothing gave him greater pleasure than being a parent to Emmalee.  Robert was recently making significant life style changes for improved long term health to ensure he would be an active participant in the lives of those he cherished and loved.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Carver; his daughter, Emmalee Viola Smith; mother, Floria Smith; aunt, Janice Smith; two sisters, Margaret Bjork and Julia Smith; mother-in-law, Laura Carver; sister-in-law and husband, Brenda and Kevin Torres; two nephews Corey Runyon and Preston Torres; three nieces Emma Torres, Viola and Erica Smith and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Everyone who met Robert loved him - his sense of humor was infectious. Robert was very kind- a good husband, son, brother, uncle, and great father.

As you can imagine, medical costs, and now funeral costs, will be monumental. Please consider helping his beloved wife,  Cheryl and daughter EmmaLee, in this time of need to help cover costs. Please also share the link to spread the word about Robert and his family's devastating loss. The Smith's friends have started this campaign with  permission from the family.
